Dai Rees

I am a coach, mentor, and performance lifestyle practitioner with over 30 years of practical application in both education and sports organisations. I empower individuals and teams to be self-aware and clear on who they are, what they want, why they want it, and how they get there.

Purpose

I aim to inspire and motivate individuals through emotional awareness together with an understanding of myself and empathy for others around me. I create a happy and psychologically safe space where clients can flourish with a sense of belonging and purpose creating better people for others.

My Story

I am an open-hearted, authentic, and loyal humanistic man. Born in a small Welsh mining village, I am blessed to have travelled and worked in many parts of the world as a leader, performance manager, coach, teacher, and mentor.

I always push my ‘edge’ as a senior leader, mentor and high performance coach in both educational and sporting organisations. My journey has been; PE Teacher to College Principle, Club Coach to National Coach, High Performance Manager to Chief Operations Officer.

Life has been filled with many challenges, ups and downs, happiness, and sadness, all allowing me to become the person I am today. In recent years, understanding my journey and raising my self-awareness as a man, has been a major factor in my full recovery from two periods of depression and crippling anxiety.

I continue to develop an understanding of myself, my inner psyche, my strengths, my triggers and my emotions. This allows me to understand others and guide them towards identifying their purpose and achieving their vision.

Sarah Rees is a qualified Talented Athlete Lifestyle Advisor specialising in Emotional Health and Wellbeing. She transitioned back to the UK last year after 12 years living in Hong Kong where she was the Performance Lifestyle Manager for the HKRU. She established, developed, and managed the first full time athlete lifestyle support structure to support both male and female junior, part-time, and full-time senior athletes and staff within the Hong Kong Rugby Union.

In her role she was responsible for 100+ athletes and looked after their well-being, their continued professional development, transition, their ‘learn or earn’ pathways and anything else that didn’t involve throwing a rugby ball around. She continuously sought new ways to improve the provision and achieved this by introducing a weekly well-being program including different types of yoga and meditation, hiking and open water swimming

After 6 years in the role Sarah returned to the UK where she worked for a year at Seaford College in West Sussex. Her Primary role was to offer Emotional and Wellbeing support to students in yrs 9-13 as well as to teachers. She strongly believes that to be successful in this role it is essential to have experienced the downs as well as the ups in life in order to have empathy and to understand the challenges her clients face. Sarah has experience of mental turbulence herself and believes that this experience has helped to shape her into the resilient, authentic and empathetic person she is today.
